Thanks must be given

On Paragon's first birthday, there are celebrations, and also my thanks to be given. We would not be here without many people and alliances. If I missed you, forgive me, as there is just so many. -First and foremost, the founders. Those that aren't here today, and those that still are, but floating around in other alliances. This wouldn't have even gotten off the ground if it wasn't for you guys. -Our protectors, first NATO, then FEAR. To both of you: Thank You. I might not have agreed with ma

Non-Chaining treaties* need to end

Non chaining is probably the worst addition to treaties in CN ever. It's one of products of this massive treaty web that's spun up, and I suspect that if they were abolished, more people would be more careful of who they treatied with, rather than treatying anything that moves. Think about it. What difference is there from a non chaining MDoAP to an oDoAP treaty? Absolutely none! You're basically saying that you'll only definitely defend your treaty partner in case of a preemptive attack, and h

Lack of leaders

Here I am, looking at the list of gov members for various alliances on the CN wiki, as well as thinking about various gov members I've met over the years. It occured to me that most of these are people are nothing more than active alliance members doing a duty or performing a service. Most of them aren't leaders. Looking around Planet Bob today, the number of leaders still around is really saddening. There are so few real leaders around that it is not surprising there's no real drama going on a

How dull

Somewhere during the NEW-DF war, I suddenly realised one thing. Even war is boring. Think about it. There's nothing to warring at all. You hit the nuke button, then you rush a couple of GAs and bombing runs, as well as a navy attack or two if you have a decent sized navy that hasn't already been nuked to bits, and afterwards throw a couple of CMs in when you feel like it. Where's the excitment in that?

Recent disbandments

We've seen disbandment after disbandment recently, which is highly unsurprising in and of itself - CN is shrinking afterall, and there are less active members around than before, when most of those alliances were founded. What IS surprising are the alliances themselves. The ones I have expected to disband haven't, and the ones I expected to succeed has disbanded. Of course, Pesarus was an unfortunate incident. Ban evading is never good. I'm not sure I would've treatied with them if I knew that

Future warfare

From what we've seen recently with the NEW-DF war, it is highly likely that wars from now will be on a far smaller scale than what has been seen in the past. The phenomenon of global wars will slowly become history. Conflicts will slowly die out until CN reaches a critical point where there are so few people around, that people will finally truly no longer care about their stats. Then it will become a state similar to what we see on Tournament Edition. In other words, all this e-lawyering bullc
