Avenged Sevenfold: Hail to the King

That's right my fellow Avenged Sevenfold fans, it's here. A7X's 6th studio album has been announced to be released on August 27th. Another thing the band has released is the cover art for their new album "Hail to the King". It's more cartoonish when compared to their other album covers, but according to the band, they are going in a slightly new direction.

""The new album has a lot more of a [black] Sabbath / [Led] Zeppelin feel to it than 'Carry On'," frontman M. Shadows said of the upcoming album last year. "There's definitely more Sabbath in what we're writing, and we're proud of 'Carry On', but this album is going to be on a whole new level."

Good ol' fashioned Rock n Roll mixed in with the last of the pure Metal bands? One can only predict success. They haven't had a bad album so far. However, this is their first album with their new drummer Arin Llejay. It is said without question no one could fill the shoes of Jimmy "The Rev" Sulivan. Arin has done a great job thus far of keeping the Rev's sound. If anyone could fill The Rev's shoes, it would be Arin. No one should worry about a change in tone or sound in A7X's "Hail to the King". I'm not.

On payday, I will have this album preordered and will be blasting this album into my skull on release day. I hope you do too!

I'm more of a Metal/Rock/Alternative fan myself. You won't catch me listening to that, atleast any of the new rap.

A7X in my opinion kind of slumped with the Nightmare album. My favorite song on there was Nightmare, all of the others were rather so-so.

A7X was never good....

They became even worse when all the pop punk poser kiddies started refering to them as punk. *facepalm*

Thats when you know that punk/emo (not the highschool fad) is truely dead.

They are metal/rock, not punk, and about as far away as pop as possible. Anyone with ears would know that. By your thinking Areosmith and Black Sabbath are punk/pop. You couldn't be more wrong.

Please, try again. I don't care if you don't like them, but atleast have a reason you didn't just pull out of your ass.

Of course they arent punk. Im not saying anything is punk.

Im saying the emo trendies like to label their trendy trash music (A7X), as punk. But these idiots are the same ones who dont know that emos were mostly anti fasion, or that emotive-hardcore is just a sub genre of hardcore punk from DC....
Anyways, I dont particularly like A7X, and I dont really view them as being very metal...

That's why I said metal/rock.

Anyways, whether or not you view them as metal is irrelevant. They are good band, in my opinion. Obviously you don't, for whatever reason. If we all liked the same music the world would sound rather boring.

This comes out on August 27th, which happens to be my birthday... Guess what I'm getting myself? :D I don't honestly care which genre they're considered, I just like it for the guitar melodies (because I play guitar). M. Shadows' voice can be really annoying at times lol

Parkway Drive's guitarists need to find me somehow... I love their guitar stuff, and usually the drums, but the vocals are rarely good. So many good metal bands are killed by the terrible vocals.
