The age-old question: which are better, cats or dogs? I have heard a lot of cat lovers say cats are better because they are more self-reliant, less needy, blah blah blah. Dog lovers, like myself, say that dogs are man's best friend, they are loyal, blah blah blah. Standard arguments. Usually I say those things (somewhat) in jest and quasi-seriously. Then, the other day, I started thing that dogs are genuinely more useful than cats. We use dogs to help the blind. We use dogs to sniff out bodies in collapsed buildings. We use dogs to sniff out bombs and people in possession of drugs (though perhaps some of you find that last one to be a bad thing). Some people use dogs to get from place to place. Humanity owes a lot to these guys.
What use do cats have (serious question here, I'm sure they are good for something, I just don't know what)?
